Solar-Log® has a new solar plant energy manager to show you at SPI this year

11. September 2019

Solar-Log® has announced the official release of the Solar-Log Base, solar plant energy manager. It is only fitting that this superior solar plant management device would be unveiled in the U.S. during Smart Energy week. Solar professionals can see the Solar-Log Base at booth L42 at Solar Power International 2019.

What’s new?

Heightened Troubleshooting

The Solar-Log Base comes with an integrated oscilloscope feature which will automatically test the quality of the communication between the inverters and the Solar-Log® energy manager. This either identifies or eliminates bad cabling as a possible source of solar plant issues. Trial and error troubleshooting is greatly decreased. Installers no longer have to go through the costly act of swapping out the wiring to determine if they are the cause of the issue.

Add Functionality When Needed

The Solar-Log Base line of products includes 5 units depending on plant size, 2 of which are expansion units for a simple way to add functionality, as needed.

The Solar-Log Base MOD I/O includes a communication port for switching on and off relays as needed. Energy consumers like air conditioners, heaters, and even EV charging stations can be turned on or off to use the energy surplus or reduce energy usage as needed.

The Solar-Log Base RS485 includes additional RS485 ports to expand communication with additional devices including inverters from varying brands, weather sensors, batteries, and more.

The Solar-Log Base MOD I/O and RS485 units will be available in November and December 2019.

What’s cool?

One Solar Plant fleet, One Solar Plant Monitoring Login

The Solar-Log Base is compatible with over 1,500 components including most major inverter brands, battery storage systems, revenue grade meters, EV charging stations, and onsite weather sensors. Reducing fleet management down to one single portal and one single login.

Solar Plant Feed-in Management

The Solar-Log Base can control the amount of power that is being produced to meet varying local requirements for grid feed-in. With the addition of a consumption meter, Solar-Log® can even curtail power relative to the amount of energy that the building is using.

“Solar Power International is the premier event for showcasing new and innovative solar products,” said Silvia Blumenschein-Schuetz, CEO of Solar Data Systems, Inc. (Solar-Log® North America). “We are looking forward to seeing what advancements the market has to offer, and especially excited to show-off the Solar-Log Base and to present our expanded service portfolio. At the end of the day, the installer and fleet manager want to know what is in it for them. They want to know what the major benefits are and we will happily and easily answer this question.”

The Solar-Log Base will be on display along with the new Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ 4.0 solar plant monitoring software at Solar Power International at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT, September 24-26, 2019, Booth L42.
